Back in November of 2009, Yar’Adua went to Saudi Arabia for some treatment of inflammation around his heart after he was suffering from chest pains. At that time, he was diagnosed with having acute pericarditis. After going to Saudi Arabia, Yar’Audu has been our of public eye ever since then. He is most known for giving amnesty to armed militants from the Niger Delta region.
I suspect it is different ideas depending on who you talk to. The people who are here illegally and are protesting for reform I suspect just want the Federal Government of the US to just make them all legal citizens right now and bring as many people that they want from their county to the US and make them legal citizens as well, right now.
They do not want any rules or laws, just make them legal citizens. If you ask these people what about all the people before them that have gone through the proper channels and entered US legally and are waiting in line to become US citizens I suspect they would say they don’t care, those people are stupid for following the rules and laws of the US. Why should anyone from another country follow any US rules or laws, just enter the US any way you can and demand to be made a legal citizen. Late Wednesday evening, President Barak Obama made a statement offering his sympathy to the Nigerian people as well as Yar’Adua’s family. This is what Obama’s statement read “President Yar’Adua worked to promote peace and stability in Africa through his support of Nigerian peacekeeping efforts as well as his strong criticism of undemocratic actions in the region. He was committed to creating lasting peace and prosperity within Nigeria’s own borders, and continuing that work will be an important part of honoring his legacy.”
Atienza together with other non-government organizations have provided affordable housing and land acquisition programs for the homeless, which have benefited a lot of the city’s poor residents and even the middle class. The city’s healthcare services and public hospitals were also improved during his term. Atienza added more funds for the city’s public hospitals and health centers which allowed them to purchase new medical equipment and medicines for enhanced healthcare services and to be able to provide free medicines to the city’s impoverished residents. more…
On 23 November 2009, Yar’Adua was flown to King Faisal in Saudi Arabia, where he was diagnosed as suffering from pericarditis.
Chief Physician to the President, Dr. Salisu Banye, has said in a statement entitled, “President Yar’Adua’s Health Condition”, the President, who is responding to treatment for his ailment, was diagnosed of having “acute pericarditis.”
The doctor said: “At about 3pm on Friday, November 20, 2009 after he returned from the Abuja Central Mosque where he performed the Juma’at prayers, President Yar’Adua complained of left sided severe chest pain. Preliminary medical examinations suggested Acute Pericarditis (an inflammatory condition of the coverings of the heart).

This is certainly a sad time for the Nigerian people during the tragic loss of their dear president. Many condolences to the Nigerian people and to his Umaru Yar’Audu’s family. May he rest in peace.
